Frequently Asked Questions

What is the One Campaign employee giving program?
The One Campaign is our annual employee giving campaign at HealthPartners. The campaign encourages colleagues to give donations to the areas of patient and family experience, research and education, and community benefit so that we can further improve health and well-being in partnership with our members, patients and community. We have teamed-up with America’s Charities to provide team members greater flexibility in deciding which programs and initiatives to support throughout the year by means of payroll deduction.

Why are we partnering with America’s Charities?
America’s Charities, a nonprofit that inspires employees and organizations to support causes they care about, is our employee giving partner, acting as the funds management agent, as well as providing general campaign support and distributing employee contributions to the programs and initiatives selected by employees during the campaign enrollment.
Our America's Charities One Campaign giving site makes giving to multiple HealthPartners foundations possible. Through the site, you will be able to view your giving history as well.

Who oversees the One Campaign employee giving program?
The One Campaign is jointly coordinated by the Amery Hospital and Clinics Foundation, Hudson Hospital Foundation, Hutchinson Health Foundation, Lakeview Health Foundation, Olivia Hospital & Clinic Foundation, Park Nicollet Foundation, Regions Hospital Foundation, and Westfields Hospital & Clinic Foundation. Our hospital foundations are registered 501(c)(3) organizations and raise philanthropic dollars for a variety of programs and initiatives that help us provide care for our patients, colleagues and neighbors.
When is the One Campaign employee giving program held?
You can participate in our employee giving program from October 1 – 20, 2024. We strongly encourage you to donate during this time.
Why did the One Campaign move from April to October?

Based on feedback from our incredible donors, the One Campaign is moving to October. A fall campaign delivers on some of the changes colleagues most frequently requested:

  • Payroll deductions now follow the calendar year – meaning colleagues who make their gift through annual payroll deductions can avoid a mid-year change to their paychecks.
  • The new timing aligns with benefit open enrollment, a time when many individuals are planning their annual spending and can make a more educated decision around their ability to give.
  • The move to calendar year deductions also allows for simplified tax planning for donors.
Are employees required to participate?
No. Donating to the One Campaign is voluntary.

What if I can’t afford to donate to the One Campaign?
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference in the lives of our patients, colleagues and community. Many find that spreading a pledge over a course of a year, in smaller amounts like $2 to $10 per paycheck makes it easy to budget.

How much of my contribution will be donated to the charity or charities I choose?
Our company funds the administrative costs and therefore 100% of your contribution goes to our hospital foundations.

Who can participate?
All HealthPartners team members may participate.

Is the site open all year?
Our employee giving site is only open for giving during the campaign from October 1 - 20, 2024. Outside of this time, please contact your local foundation directly to make a gift.

How do I find programs or initiatives to support?
Check out our Giving Guide for step-by-step instructions on how to find a program and make a gift: https://healthpartners.americascharities.stratuslive.com/giving-guide.

What is the Sustaining Donor Program?
The One Campaign Sustaining Donor Program automatically renews a colleague’s donation each year. That means your donations will continue through payroll deduction until you ask for the deductions to be canceled. Annually, you will receive an email that provides you with the opportunity to increase, decrease, stop or reallocate your gift.

What are the benefits of making a gift via payroll?
Payroll donations make it easy to make larger contributions than giving by check. You can give as little as $2 per pay period through payroll deduction, which most people will find easier on their budgets than writing a check for more than $100. You can give $240 to one of your favorite programs with just a $10 bi-weekly deduction.

What payment methods are accepted through the giving site?

One-Time Payroll Contribution: Your gift will be deducted one time from your first paycheck for January 2025.

One-Year Payroll Contribution: Your gift will be deducted from your paycheck distributed over 12 or 24 (dependent upon how often you are paid) pay periods for one year, beginning with your first paycheck for January 2025 – December 2025.

Sustaining Contribution: Your gift will be deducted from your paycheck distributed over 12 or 24 (dependent upon pay code) pay periods beginning with your first paycheck for January 2025 and will continue until you ask for the donations to be changed or discontinued.

One-time Check Contribution: Please make your check payable to “America’s Charities Fiscal Agent.” Online check contributors should mail their check directly to America's Charities at:

America's Charities
ATTN: CFMS/HealthPartners
14200 Park Meadow Drive
Suite 330S
Chantilly, VA 20151

All check contributions must be accompanied by an emailed confirmation from the online giving platform. Checks will be cashed in 2024.

One-time Credit Card Donation: Your gift will be charged to your credit card and processed immediately (1-2 business days by your credit card provider). To cancel a pledge made via credit card, contact www.charities.org/support.

Cash Donations: One-time cash donations will be processed at your local HealthPartners foundation. Please bring cash directly to the foundation office (don’t send via interoffice mail).

How can I make a gift of stock, through my Donor Advised Fund, or in a manner not listed above?
Please reach out to your local Foundation for next steps and instruction on how to make a gift in a way not listed above.

How do I cancel a donation?
To cancel pledges made by credit card, you can email HealthPartners@charities.org. To cancel pledges made by payroll deduction, contact HealthPartners payroll at PayrollDepartment@HealthPartners.Com.

Are my contributions tax deductible?
Yes, your payroll contributions are 100-percent deductible. You can print a copy of your giving history at any time from America’s Charities website. A summary of your deductions made in 2025 will be sent to you by email early in 2026.

I used to make a gift to an external charity and no longer see that option. Why?
To streamline and simplify the campaign, we are no longer able to facilitate the distribution of gifts to external charities. Across our family of eight HealthPartners foundations, we support many important programs and initiatives. Many of our funds support care offered in and for our community – including Little Moments Count, PowerUp, MakeItOk and more. Your external charity of choice can accept gifts directly via their nonprofit website or on special events like Giving Tuesday, GiveMN, giveBig St. Croix Valley, etc.

I see fewer funds listed as giving options this year. Why?

Why do I have to reinitiate my sustaining gift this year?

In order to begin the new annual payroll deduction cycle of January - December, existing sustaining gift deductions had to be terminated in our payroll system at the end of the previous cycle in June 2024.

After reestablishing your sustaining gift this fall, your gift will once again automatically renew annually until you ask for the deductions to be changed or cancelled. You’ll continue to receive a yearly email providing you the opportunity to increase, decrease, stop or reallocate your gift.

We’re happy to help with any technical support you may need. Please reach out to your local Foundation for assistance.
